Below are listed some of the accommodations which your child may be entitled to in order to assist him/her in being successful in school:
Pacing
Post a daily written schedule
Preview and Review each class lesson
Allow frequent breaks
Assist with organization and planning of classwork and/or homework
Environment
Keep daily assignments posted
Give advance notice of changes
Assign a “buddy” for new environments
Allow freedom to move about, stand or pace
Adjust work areas to meet physical needs
Seat to reduce distractions
Instruction
Provide clear step by step instructions
Provide specific and immediate feedback
Use hands-on activities
Pre-teach vocabulary
Provide study guides and review time
Simplify language in directions
Give concrete examples
